The Story Behind If the Pretzel Fits

For more than 25 years, I’ve been making chocolate-covered pretzels every holiday season — a sweet little tradition that began with a recipe passed down from my sister-in-law, Janine, who originally received it from her neighbor, Tina. Over time, I couldn’t resist adding my own creative twist — experimenting with toppings like toffee bits, mini marshmallows, Rice Krispies, cinnamon candies, pecans, sprinkles, and just about anything else that made them extra special.

Then came Christmas 2021 — the moment everything changed. I had ordered beautiful custom gift boxes for my husband’s co-workers and clients, but plans shifted and the boxes went unused. As I looked at them sitting there, an idea bubbled up: why not use them for my pretzels? When I gifted them to friends, the response was the same every time: “These are gorgeous! Where did you buy them?”

That’s when it clicked — maybe it was time to share my homemade creations beyond family and friends. So, on January 6th, 2022, If the Pretzel Fits officially came to life.

What started as a beloved holiday hobby has grown into something even sweeter — a way to share a little comfort, creativity, and joy in every bite. I hope you love these gourmet pretzels as much as my family and friends have through the years.
